In 2017, Tech 1 Racing will support the Jules Bianchi Society created to honour the memory of the driver who carried the colours of the team from Toulouse in 2012. The association’s logo will adorn the four cars racing in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. Jules Bianchi and Tech 1 Racing fought together for the Formula Renault 3.5 Series title in 2012, after which the young Frenchman moved up to Formula 1 where he displayed his unique talent among the best drivers in the world. Due to his unbelievable involvement, his outright determination, his passion and his availability Jules quickly became a full member of the Tech 1 Racing family. At the wheel of his Formula Renault 3.5 he clinched five pole positions, scored three victories, eight top-3 finishes and set seven fastest laps in the races. The two names will join forces again in 2017. The Toulouse-based outfit will promote the Jules Bianchi Society on its cars and its communications tools to highlight it on a regular basis to enhance its visibility.
Philippe and Christine Bianchi founded the Jules Bianchi Society last year in order to honour the name of the French driver through two projects. The first aims to collaborate with the USCL service of the Archet hospital in Nice where Jules was treated to improve the comfort of the youngest patients and their families. The second intends to back young kart drivers – who share the values of the chart JB#17, many of which have driven Tech 1 Racing since its inception – to help them make it into Formula 1.
