A Mini Convertible John Cooper Works has been seen with almost no disguise on it recently and the latest pictures just show a few swirls on the back and bonnet, so almost completely bare! It can therefore clearly be seen that the back bumper, flared wheel arches, front end and central exhausts all come from the John Cooper Works hardtop. The models look very much the same on the outside apart from the antenna being repositioned on the convertible and the lowering top of course. It is expected that the camouflage at the back is to hide the mechanism for that as the third generation Mini convertible has not yet been unveiled.
Inside it is thought there will be the latest John Cooper Works 2.0 litre turbocharged engine. This has four cylinders and can produce up to 228 horsepower and 236 lb/ft torque. There will be a choice of automatic or six speed manual gearboxes. No date has yet been given for when this car will be revealed. It is expected that it will not be too long though as this model looks very advanced.
