Al Salone di Ginevra la GFG STYLE di Giorgetto e Fabrizio Giugiaro sarà presente con un proprio stand, dove sarà presentata in anteprima mondiale la nuova concept car high-performance.
Fabrizio Giugiaro, CEO of GFG STYLE: “In March 6th we will present our new prototype during a press conference, developed in collaboration with Envision Energy, a global leading smart energy management company. The car is empowered by Envision’s EnOS™ energy IoT technology, the world’s first open source energy IoT platform.”
Lei Zhang, CEO Envision Energy: “Envision partnered with GFG Style to bring to life our shared vision of the future of mobility. Our concept car combines Mr Giugiaro’s iconic future-thinking design with our EnOS™ energy IoT platform, together redefining the future of the car. It is inspired by our commitment to create a sustainable future, where everyone has access to clean, secure and affordable energy – a world of “Beautiful Energy®”.
Giorgetto Giugiaro, CHAIRMAN of GFG Style: “I believe that designing cars is a truly stimulating, unique craft, because compared to other serial products, the result of your work is translated into motion: you come across it on the roads and then you think that it was desired, commented on, judged, chosen and then driven! But alongside commissioned projects, I have always tried to stimulate the scene by investing in research and construction of prototypes and show cars, which can also be driven on the road in their natural habitat and not only on rotating platforms under the dazzling spotlights of car shows. This way of communicating by way of concrete examples has given me the opportunity to range over many motoring themes, depending on the social and historic circumstances, the brand I was inspired by and that I was “dressing” at the time, and more generally to look for new functional architectures, starting from roominess and ergonomics to arrive at shape”.
Giorgetto Giugiaro: “As my 80th birthday gets closer, I’m preparing a car to commemorate it. The prototype is a 4-seater electric sedan combining luxury, sportiness, space and dynamism. The proposal is not intended to be a synthesis of my work but a revisitation of a classic theme with the addition of solutions on accessibility and functionality that I believe are unique, also thanks to the use of new technologies”.
Giorgetto Giugiaro: “It seems strange that I have gone back to making a sedan, but I was among its first supporters. After designing very low hedonistic cars in the ‘60s and ‘70s, I have been provocative with the first minivans, introducing the vertical development of vehicles that have evolved into today’s SUVs, MPVs and crossovers. Well, now that the market is pervaded by this form of architecture I would like to continue to “provoke”, by returning to the classic theme of elegance with the addition of some very innovative solutions. I have designed it for a sophisticated, international, demanding user, who today is still driving but who is soon destined to be driven around…. by the car itself. The technology would have allowed me to eliminate the steering wheel, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it!! I think that beauty is always a matter of proportions and we are not yet ready to accept styling cues that are too revolutionary; so this styling exercise, although it is a show car in the millennium of technological communication, is a sober attempt to reintroduce themes that I have dealt with in the past for vehicle safety, offering a whole series of information for the users as well as for the world outside”.
Fabrizio Giugiaro: “I reveal this research with some visual suggestions that I believe might stimulate the curiosity of enthusiasts. The car will be unveiled in our booth on March 6th in Geneva Motor Show, and ready to be driven around the Turin roads in June, as in our tradition”.
